Chicago residents are one of many cities to begin distribution for the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to data from the City of Chicago portal, this map shows how many vaccines are being distributed daily. The data shows that the highest cumulative vaccines distributed are 487 doses in one day.
Eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine in Chicago sets new standards, as Illinois expands their list for vaccine eligibility in Phase 1B. The low supply of doses distributed is through the low number of vaccines supplied to the state of Illinois. However, Illinois continues to expand in vaccine locations announcing they added in more than 100 new locations this week.
Nationally, the Biden Administration signed a deal with Moderna and Pfizer for 200 million doses. President Biden proposed this decision in his goal to have all Americans in the vaccination process by summer 2021.
With larges doses distributed, Chicago should be able to expand and move into the next phase in terms of vaccine doses.
